Approval by AICTE
All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) is a statutory body brought into existence by an act of Indian Parliament. AICTE is the apex, approving and regulatory body for technical courses being run by the technical institutions of higher education. As per the ruling of the Hon’ble Supreme Court in Bharathidasan University vs AICTE, the Universities are not under the purview of the AICTE for granting approval to them for running technical courses. Under clause (k) section 10 of AICTE Act universities do not require AICTE approval for running technical courses. Only institutions which are affiliated to universities require this approval.
Approval by UGC under Section 12(B) of the UGC Act, 1956
The name of Uttaranchal University is included in the list of universities under Section 12(B) of the UGC Act, 1956.
Approval by UGC under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956
Uttaranchal University is a UGC enlisted University. Our course curriculum and infrastructure are as per the UGC guidelines.
Established by the State Government of Uttarakhand
Uttaranchal University is established vide Uttaranchal University Act 2012 (Uttarakhand Act No. 11 of 2013). Uttaranchal University is a full-fledged university and brought into existence by the state act passed by the Uttarakhand Legislature.

ICAR does not recognize/approve any institution/course/program/degree.
NAAC A+ Accreditation
University has been accredited with grade A+ by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) Executive Committee.
It is a matter of immense pleasure and great satisfaction that our University has been accredited with grade A+ by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) Executive Committee. This will bring in a new spirit into the Academic and Research environment of the institution.
On one hand, we take it as a matter of pride, but on the other it has also raised the bar for more to be done in present & future. This, therefore, demands the least sense of complacency on our part. There are certain areas where we all need to work hard to plug in the loopholes so that the University strives for better grades par excellence in future and gets placed among the top institutions globally. Together, we shall make it possible for sure.

Uttaranchal University has obtained the recognition/approval of the Bar Council of India to run its Law programs under the faculty of Law and Legal Studies (Law College Dehradun). Law Programs accredited by Bar Council of India
Recognition by Pharmacy Council of India
Uttaranchal University has obtained the recognition/approval of the Pharmacy Council of India to run its Pharmacy programs, approval letter from by Pharmacy Council of India.
